A very common repair is a missing or broken knob.

You might know the proper threads, or even have a proper nut in the junk drawer, but to dress the nut up into a proper repair, you might want a nice handle to wrap around the nut to make it usable.  The OpenSCAD file in this project will quickly give you a knob to fancy up your nut and make your repair look professional.

This winged knob, like my wingnut, uses the nut presets from my C clamp to automatically size and configure its dimensions to get you something usable without looking up and typing in a bunch of thread dimensions.

If you don't like this know, maybe my wingnut would work.  Or,  you could try this customizable knob (it does all the thread, but doesn't automatically scale the knob diameters and heights to match the nut.)

This knob uses a copy of the Round Anything library to create a parametric filleted shape per  https://learn.cadhub.xyz/docs/definitive-beginners/adding-fillets/ and https://learn.cadhub.xyz/docs/round-anything/api-reference#extrudewithradius

Only a few possible STLs are included here: M1.6, M3, M6, M8, M36 and SAE #6-32, #8-32, ΒΌ-20, and 3/8-16,  but the metric and SAE presets cover many threaded nuts M1.6-M36 and #8-80-1"-8.   What I like about the presets is that after you choose a nut size, the rest of the dimensions are scaled to fit the nut.  There are also  tweaks to make the part differ from the standard proportions, such as 200% taller and 10% wider.
