Can't afford a Steam Deck but want one? If you bought a Steam Controller ages ago and have a tablet/phone that Steam Link can be installed on then I have a solution for you!
Introducing the Sturdy Steam Controller Tablet/Phone mount! I took the well placed front mounted Steam Controller clip from DAVE42's design and coupled that with the very sturdy tablet/phone holder from rixxka2000's design but increased the distance between controller and device just a little for bigger thumbs (but should also be fine with smaller thumbs too!).
Please see the thingiverse link for links to the designs the one I made was remixed from: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5503553
There is a rubber band slot to help with device retention, but I found the tolerances to be quite tight with the retention arm into the clip slot that I don't even need it. I find the friction from PLA to PLA to be enough. I installed small rubber feet inside the mount as my phone too small to be retained, but with the rubber feet it holds in well. I plan on using it with an old iPad mini 3 which the rubber feet are not necessary if you have a rubberised case.
I wanted to print it in 100% infill but did it with 50% infill for a test and was fine using it just with 50% infill on both the clip and retaining arm - it's very solid at 50% infill. I found that I was having bed adhesion problems on a corner of the clip, but changing to a brim from a skirt raft in Cura bed adhesion settings fixed that for me (you may not have that problem, but if you do try using a brim).
