Have you replaced your lock with the Yale Y3 Contemporary Nightlatch only to find you can no longer use the handle to pull the door open because of its stupid, flat, smooth turn handle which is impossible to grip? I did. I think this a design flaw in an otherwise well engineered lock.
So I designed this ergonomic extension. You don’t even have to remove the lock to fix it. Now my lock has a convenient and comfortable grip and I can again open my door with one hand.
Break away the minimal supports and fix it over the turn handle with an epoxy resin adhesive. (I used Araldite Rapid). You’ll see how it fits.
I wonder if anyone from Yale will read this.
