I wanted an all-in-one, but I also wanted to keep the command box. Additional rails give me space for accessories... :)

My trusty old CR-10 was taking too much horizontal space with the separate command box, while I did not mind it taking more vertical space. I know there are a lot of all-in-one solutions everywhere, but they involve taking the control box apart, sometimes exposing the power supply, and they can even have problems with heat afterwards…
My design is very simple and adds a space below the printer where the control box, Raspberry Pi and any other accessory you wish to add can be fixated.

You will need;

  • Wire extensions, I got these ones but any typical 1m extensions should be good:
  • 2020 corner brackets like these ones
  • M4 screws + M4 T-Nut screws (or M3/M5) ; I bought a x100 pack, it's always good to have some on hand anyway
  • 2020 extrusions (instructions on which lengths to cut them to are in the PDF)
    • 4*600mm
    • 4*500mm
  • 4* “CR-10 Foot squash 2020” with 4 squash balls inside as feet of the printer
  • A 120mm fan for the control box, I used this one
