In the days BC (Before Computers), we kept track of contacts' information on a large Rolodex card file. I was surprised to find that Rolodex card files are still available at Amazon and local stationary stores. I copied the two rail card format to use as the basis for storing an index of purchased filaments.
This design uses the basic Rolodex two rail file system configuration on a simple open base. Two other designs are also offered that add sides and a hinged cover.
The filament swatches are designed based on the Rolodex file system. This swatch holder adds sides and a hinged top to the basic holder.
Each sample swatch can be printed as a plain card and magic marked with appropriate data, or you can add your own text to the card design in Fusion 360. Files for the plain swatch/card, index tabs, and sample specific-filament cards are provided below.
I found that printing in Vase Mode provided a viable swatch that is quite flexible and robust.
The standard Rolodex card is 4" x 2-¼". I found this a bit large, so reduced that swatch to ~3" x 1-5/8". I did not change the Rolodex rail size or position.
