This cradle and tumbler was created so that I could code the function buttons on my velocity one controller for my XBox system with multiple button press capability to achieve 5 layers of function button options.
The cradle sits next to my velocity one so I can select the setting I want to change and remind myself of the button clicks required to trigger this.
It includes a template for printing the labels to slide into the tumbler that you can change to suit the actions that you choose for the function buttons.
The options that I have selected for each button are included by way of example.
I use the left and right white control buttons and the left and right triggers to achieve 5 options for the function buttons with the first being just the function button itself
The faces of the display need to be superglued to the tumbler as illustrated in the "Assembled" STL file. I chose to print them separately to get a higher quality end product. You need to print five of the display faces - and be sure to glue them on as illustrated - the wider strip on the hex drum faces downwards on the display which has the large display face on the left side. Otherwise the label template will not display correctly.
Needs a 4mm wooden shaft (e.g. an old knitting needle) to connect the tumbler to the cradle. A printed shaft is problematic.
Enjoy
Update - added STL for base plate for this and one of my other published models, and updated the labels to latest including button assignments.
