This is a conversion of the FLSUN Cube into a Voron Legacy core XY hybrid. This design is a combination of the Voron Trident 300x300 (Frame and skirts), Voron Legacy (core XY gantry system) and the FLSUN cube (hot end (V6), bowden extruder, Z system, bed and electronics). This design sets you up for continuous upgrades to this printer and eventually turn it into a full blown Voron Trident. Also, having the frame setup this way allows for the use of the Trident panels (Acrylic & ABS) to fully enclose the printer at a later time in order to print ABS. 

NOTE: If planning on enclosing the printer, all components need to be printed in atleast ABS or ASA.

The overall print area of this design is 280 x 280 x 195mm. More z can be added if additional modifications to the motor mounts are made. All 3D printed parts are printed in ABS using the Voron standard for printed parts.

The files that are uploaded are the files that had to be modified from the Voron design team files in order to adapt the components from the FLSUN CUBE. All other STL files along with the assembly manuals can be found in the Voron github. One thing to note, there is not an assembly manual for the Voron Legacy printer, so the CAD model is a key to this project which is also uploaded to help with cutting/drilling the frame, rods and Z screws.

FLSUN Cube component modifications:

  • Voron Trident (300x300) Frame:
    • Do not need the 2020 for the bed at this time.
    • The back 2020 brace needs to be left the same length as the other 10 pieces.
    • Will need to follow the Trident assembly manual for assembly and the CAD model for lengths and hole locations.
    • May have to drill and tap for M6 threads for the frame since the 2020 on the CUBE is slightly different.
    • 11X cut to 420mm
    • 4X cut to 500mm
    • 1X cut to 300mm
  • Linear rods
    • 6X cut at 370mm
    • 4X cut to 280mm (Z - for this design, will change if increasing Z travel)
  • Z screws
    • 2X cut to 250mm (will change if increasing Z travel)
