Use: I created this knob for a few applications including snowmobile tie down anchors and an ice saver height adjustment. This knob allows for you to rotate an item and the knob will rotate freely on the shaft. Similar application to a lawn tractor steering knob.

Design 1 (Model file: Steer knob 1.5)  Knob is 1 1/2" tall by 1.6" in diameter. Hole is sized to spin freely on a 3/8" hex bolt

Design 2 (Model file: Steer knob 2.0) Knob is 2" tall by 1.6" in diameter. Hole is sized to spin freely on a 3/8" hex bolt.

Assembly: Size the 3/8" bolt long enough to run full length through the knob and thread fully into the mounting plate. Loctite or double nut to secure bolt to the mounting plate leaving some space for the knob to rotate on bolt. I use one washer between the bolt head and knob and one washer between the knob and mounting plate.
