Customizable Systainer Labelled Faceplate

This is a customizer for creating faceplates with embossed text for T-LOC Systainer latches/knobs. Scaled to 67% it will fit the T-LOC Mini Systainer latches/knobs.

It can create a one-line label or a two-line label.

The faceplate is 1.5 mm in height and the text is an additional 1.0 mm in height.

As in the original from which this is remixed, the faceplate is held by a pressure-fit provided by 4 tabs. If necessary, this can be reinforced with adhesive like glue or double-sided tape.

If you have a dual extruder printer, there is an STL of a blank faceplate included and the customizer has the option to create the text only with no faceplate.

Dual Colors with a Single Extruder

These can be printed in two colors with a single extruder by pausing the printer after the faceplate part has completed and then swapping in a spool of filament for the text.

Most printers support the M600 G-code command, so you may be able to add in pauses using your slicer program. You may find the Colorprint tool useful if your printer supports the M600 command, but your slicer doesn't support adding pauses: https://www.prusaprinters.org/color-print/

If your printer doesn't support the M600 command, you will have to pause the print manually using the control panel immediately after the printer has completed printing the faceplate. The faceplate is 1.5 mm in height.

After switching filament colors, the nozzle may not be primed and the first bit printed may be under-extruded, so to compensate for this, I always add in a little cylindrical tower and get the slicer to start the layers on that tower. For Cura, the settings that control this are Layer Start X and Layer Start Y, which are in the Travel section. I put the cylinder above the top right corner and set Layer Start X and Layer Start Y to a high number like 500. The customizer has the option of adding the swap tower, which it will do by default.

For the best looking faceplate, you'll want the top infill area of the faceplate part of the model to be a single continuous solid print from one corner to the other, instead of going around the areas where the letters will be added in later layers. To accomplish this in Cura, set the Skin Expand Distance to a high number like 10.

Note: There was bug in the original release (V1) that had separate meshes for each of the 4 tabs. Only one person downloaded that version within the first hour before I corrected it, so if you are that person, you should download the latest version.
