Drawer Sharpie

Mount a sharpie inside a drawer that will automatically present itself for quick access.  Simple lever mechanism will lift and lower the sharpie when the drawer opens and closes.  

Easy one-handed operation!

Update 2022-08-27

New version of Holder.stl that provides a much better fit around the tip of the sharpie. This should help address issues with the marker drying out.

I also added an alternative holder that uses the sharpie cap.  I don't like the usage with the cap but I wanted to provide the option.

Printing

Print all items on the side.  No supports required.

Printed in PLA with .2mm layer height.

Assembly

Connect parts using a single M3 screw and included washer.  Tighten enough to hold the parts in place but still easy to move.

Attach to inside of drawer with double sided tape or two small screws.  (I used a ‘medium’ Command Strip).  

• Make sure to position it high enough so that the hook catches the inside of the drawer when you pull it open.  
• Warning!! Don't lower the pen manually.  It needs to be upright when you close the drawer or bad things will happen.
