It's working well so far. The original worked fine for first 1000+ changes, then I kept getting misfeeds. I'm suspecting (hoping) it was the filament 'bits' clogging up, which this design should help to fix. I was lucky to have a non-stainless ball (so the magnet worked) - possibly because I built it from cheep parts from aliexpress :-) . (edited)
