Camera cage for the Lumix GX80 / GX85 camera. I designed the cage because the cages for GX80, which is still a good camera, are no longer available on the market.
The cage contains a number of 1/4" and 3/8" UNC camera threads, known as cheeseplate, which allow a number of different accessories to be attached to the camera. Threads have a standard pitch of 9 mm (center to center).
The left side contains a rosette with a 1/4" thread in the center for attaching a handle.
This model is a work in progress, nevertheless I decided to publish it. After a short test, I found out that some threads are unnecessary or unusable due to impractical placement or they are too shallow.
In the next updates, I will try to eliminate these errors and incorporate corrections and adjustments according to my impressions from testing. However, I'll welcome your suggestions and improvements in the comments.
Print settings:
Printed with Prusament Mystic Green PLA on Prusa Mini. 0,1mm layer height, 3 perimeters and 20% infill. The cage is pretty solid and does not flex.
Supports: are necesseray under overhangs. I did not use the supports in threads which resulted in their slightly reduced quality but it does not have impact on their functionality. However, I recommend supports everywhere
