Keep pesky birds, squirrels or other creatures off your stuff with these defensive spikes.
This brand new design is printed flat for speed and printability. It uses very little plastic compared to other designs on Thingiverse. The end brackets are designed to allow single strips of spikes to be replaced if damaged and includes holes for up to 3 screws. Even though the spikes are thin, they have a "backbone" to keep them rigid.
Beware that printing in black PLA may make it susceptible to softening or melting in direct sun on a hot summer day. White PLA or ABS is recommend.
Print first layer at 15 mm/s if you have bed adhesion issues at the spike tips like I did. I also increased extrusion temperature and bed temperature by 5 degrees for the first layer.
Print is optimized for .3 layer height.
