I still think the hedgehog is very cute and the colorful spikes are still a hit. But... Okay, okay... 431 spikes might…

Thank you very much! My son liked to cut and glue the filament pieces.

@DaveVader This looks sooooo great. And including kids in the post-processing is the best you can do. Thank you so much for sharing your make and for the overwhelming rating.

Came here to say thank you!

I was to print this for a long time, but after seeing my 18month daughter playing with a montessori worms fishing toy, I knew it was time to try.

After printing, even before it had eyes, and being painted, she wanted to play with it.

Now she plays with it everyday, with a great smile on her face, pointing the eyes, the nose and the small ears that I've drewn with very basic skills. (I sincerely hope that you don't mind, but it has to have ears).

She really enjoys putting spikes, when all the spikes are in, takes them out and starts over. She wants us to watch her and participate. It's alot of fun!

The hedgehog is very cute and it's now one of her favorite toys.

We sincerely think that this hedgehog place it's not only to be on a desk/ shelf because it allows my daughter to improve her coordination skills, while playing with it.

It's now a montessori tool!

Thank you very much!

Settings used:
0.2 layer height
25% infill
35mm/sec
195°C/ 45°C
With supports
Azurefilm banana pastel pla
(this pla is very strong, and its difficult to remove the supports, but it's easy to print)

The top and bottom didn't align perfectly (vertically), probably because of temperature, but it was nice after sanding)

Painted with watercolors after widening the holes a little, for being easier to play with (the holes were a tight fit).

@Vitor_552828 What a lovely make and story. I am so grateful that you shared it here and made my day with it. You did a great shop. It's heartwarming to see your daughter play with it.

Thanks for the cute model! I don't have a multicolor printer, so I had to modify it to allow the sections to be printed seperately and glued together.

@AKinferno Oh wow. That's looking so great. I'm working on a single color version but I love that you made it work for you. Thank you so much for sharing your make and for the overwhelming rating.

Higher mesh densities will provide greater detail when printed. Thank you for the clarification.

I like your hedgehog model. Thanks for sharing. What is the difference between Low, High and Ultra? They look the same when I slice them in Cura. Thanks.

@omniderb_245353 I'm glad that you like my little, mulit-color hedgehogs. With low, high and ultra I categorize different refinement (mesh densities). The attached image shows the difference between low and high and you can clearly see the facets in the low version. I export in different densities because the low numbers are easier to process for some printers and the higher ones do look cleaner and are nice for upscale, remixes etc. But upscale might nothing useful for this example. Who knows ;-)
