I wanted to be able to mount both my d-locks (a Hiplok DX and a Kryptonite New York Standard) to my bike. So I designed this dual mount bracket. It attaches to a bottle cage mount that's present on the bottom of my bike's top tube and gets further secured by a wide velcro strap. The locks can slide through two lined-up openings each, locked and then further secured against movement with velcro straps.

Part list

  • The printed model (adjusted for the shackles of your own locks)
  • 2 x M5x20mm
  • 2 x M5 washer
  • 40-50mm wide velcro strap that fits

Print the part, make sure to orient it as shown in the screenshot:

Add support everywhere but put support blockers on the two arms so no support is generated in the velcro strap passthroughs or screw holes. I used 5 perimeters and 15% double lined infill. It seemed plenty strong, time will tell. Once printed, mount to your bike. First the screws (screw + washer into the screw holes), then the velcro strap.

If you want to adjust the diameters of the lock shackles or any of the other parameters (likely, as this is specifically dimensions to fit my bike and my locks), check out the included FreeCAD file and therein the Spreadsheet that controls the relevant sketches. The two parameters are lock_dia_kryptonite and lock_dia_hiplock. Most of the parameters are used in the very first sketch, so check that out if you want to know what they do. Some are unused and leftovers from past iterations, sorry for that.

How was this designed?

This part was designed in FreeCAD LinkStage, version 2022.4.30. The .fcstd file is attached.
