OpenScad Files with 20 parameters for your hanging bird feeder
Additional material needed:
6x wood slats (I used 39mm x 5mm x 300mm) for roof and food container
1x square wood rod longer than the 6 wood slats (I used 4.5mm x 4.5mm x 320mm)
2x square wood rod as connector between top and bottom part ( I used 4.5mm x 4.5mm x 120mm)
Use BirdFeeder.scad for both, the top and bottom part.
Try different settings to find out what they mean (use screenshots for help)
I use OpenSCAD-2019.05
Advice:
Make sure the top part is wider than the bottom part, so the food is better protected from rain and snow. Use different angles or wider wood slats for the roof
The top wooden slat is overlapping the sides. This makes it difficult for water to run through. This is adjustable, see parameters: top side spacing x/y and screenshot
For the bottom part, you don't need a hanging rod -> disable it
Create STL for the top/bottom part and print each STL 2x
Hanger.scad creates the end pieces for the hanging rod. Print it 2x.
Screw holes: If the rods in the "connector mount" are too loose, you can fix them with small pins or screws
