A compact spool with a capacity of ~750g of filament.
This spool was designed for compact storage of my ¾ filled or less spools inside an air-tight wide-neck barrel. With the regular spools, only 2 fit per layer, leaving large air-gaps into which another spool doesn't fit. This design bypasses this inefficiency by sacrificing capacity in favor of a smaller footprint, allowing a total of 4 to be stored per layer with minimal lost space. The top piece offers 4 holes to hold the filament in place during storage, depending on your Printer these should be tight enough as is.
Printing this model in PETG allows the spool to "bounce" when it falls down. PLA should also work, but I've had issues with severe warping whenever I tried.
This spool is compatible with the spool Winder designed by Les Kaye https://www.printables.com/model/76508-spool-winder
!!Important!!
3x M3 Screws are required for assembly. Glue might not be up for the task.
The model needs to be rotated during slicing for supportless printing.
