DISCLAIMER I'm not responsible for what happens to your raspberry pi zero or your plant.

Now that the scary warning is out of the way, this is my Raspberry Pi Zero case/planter! I hope you like it!

The Pi Zero is such an amazing little piece of electronics I wanted to design a special home for it. You can do just about anything with a Pi Zero from running a full OS to doing some light emulation, to now helping a plant grow! Well it doesn't actually help the plant grow but it could!

I designed this to hold the small terra cotta plants you can buy at the nursery so you can just drop it in and watch it grow or if you're feeling more adventurous plant directly in the top cavity of the case. If you do that I would use at least 4 top and bottom layers to aid in it's ability to hold water.

I hope you enjoy many years with your plant and Pi Zero. Let me know if you have any questions in the comments.

  • Recommend printing top piece upside down, and bottom piece right side up. Apologies if they don't show up correctly when you first load them in your slicer of choice.
  • I printed with supports only touching build plate on mine which worked great but you might be able to get away without supports depending on your printer. Some light clean up was necessary after printing to clean up the overhangs.
  • If you opt to add soil and water directly to the case, again I would recommend printing with 4 top and bottom layers and at least 4 wall thickness in your slicer to limit the possibility of water seepage. Coating with a sealant would be even more effective :)
