This'll be my first modification I've posted.

The Text isn't included in the final version, so you can add whatever you like in that space using 3D Builder, or your preferred program.

It uses the controller mount made by Dapaca https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2920786

And the adjustable phone holder by DAVE42 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2921737

The reason I created this mount was because I liked parts from either one, but I couldn't decide between them. So I decided to combine them and iterate on them further.

Ideally, you'd want to print this in PLA so the mount can flex around the controller as you're putting it on. Let me know if other materials work fine with it.

After joining the two pieces together and doing a test print, I made the following changes:

  • Slimmed down the mount and levelled it so it can be printed sideways for optimal strength
  • Added a square lip to the bottom of the controller so it'll be easier to remove
  • Removed a hole in the back so you can charge the controller without having to remove the mount
  • Improved the fit between the clip hole and the phone mount by making it a bit wider
  • Included a Tapered version of the clip in case you find it too tough to fit in.

Use the "Lay Flat" option in your slicer just to make sure it's fully flat on the side

You may need to clear the support inside the hole, you can do this using Cura's "support blocker", or with most other slicing programs

You can also scale the clip to whatever size you need, and it's such a small part so you won't have to worry about wasting plastic for it.

Overall I'd say I'm very happy with the modifications I've made. It's become my ideal controller and I hope you enjoy it too.

If you are wondering about the filament I used, it's called "Real Filament Gold PLA" (Amazon affiliate link): https://amzn.to/2Vn5rKO

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

Notes:

The support type I chose was "Touching Buildplate" in Cura. I didn't have to manually block the support at all using this mode with my printer.

Printed using PLA. The PLA I used was "Real Filament 8719128325040 Real PLA, Spool of 1 kg, 1.75 mm, Gold"

I used 3 walls, and 4 top layers.

Use a brim if needed.
