This is a set of oil Cooler intake fins to replace the kit supplied oil cooler which is very basic and looks substandard compared to the rest of the kit. I have made three of these kits now and fitted one to the centre wing section as can be seen in the photo's. This kit, when fitted makes a substantial difference to the overall appearance and finish of the plane due to the 3 dimensional look to the oil coolers in the wing section which was a major part of the look of the plane.

How I Designed This ===================The Design
I designed this oil cooler to specifically fit the CARF (Composite Almost Ready To Fly) F4U Corsair. It is sized and designed so it can be inserted into the opening of the wing, then turned and glued to the inside edge or lip of the oil cooler opening in the wing with little to no modification the opening in the wing. A ply backing can be made to seal the back of the oil cooler to stop the air flow entering the wing cavity during flight and inflating the wing. This would not be desirable. The gauzed section in the photo was made from a piece of aluminium mesh from a security door.
This is the Corsair shown in the photos above in flight at Warbirds Over Mundijong in Perth Western Australia. Please note the plane still has the original Oil Coolers fitted supplied by the manufacturer.
