Gift Box For The 3D Printed Watch created Printschnitzel.at

The box is perfect for presenting the watch for occasions such as a birthday, retirement, or Father's Day gift.

Due to feedback from other makers, the hinges have been improved, and new versions of the upper and lower boxes have been uploaded. The hinge pins are made from a small length of PLA wire directly from the spool. The PLA wire is inserted through the hinge leaves and cut to length, allowing the hinge to articulate.

The box has been designed to fit all watch band size lengths, which Printschnitzel.at has uploaded, allowing for sufficient clearance around the watch when the box is closed.

Printing Information

Watch box - Lower:

Print the lower box with the base of the box mating the build plate.

• 0.15mm layer height.
• 15% infill.
• 0.4mm nozzle diameter.
• Prusament PLA used.
• Support material from the plate is required for the latch feature.

Watch box - Upper:

For the best resolution quality. Print the upper box with the box opening mating the build plate.

• 0.15mm layer height.
• 15% infill.
• 0.4mm nozzle diameter.
• Prusament PLA used.
• Support material from the plate.

Watch box - Latch:

The latch can sometimes be problematic to print. To achieve the best fit when fully assembled, a STEP file is available to allow for some minor editing in the length of the latch if needed.

Watch box - Band Holder:

Various band holder files are available. The band length range sizes stated on the files are a guide only and have been estimated. If the fitment is too loose or too tight, use either the next size up or down accordingly.
