I'm trying to invent more practical uses for thermochromic PLA (changes color with temperature). This is a cover for a shower head pipe. The transition temp is listed as 31C / 88F, so it's perfect for this application. As soon as the color change starts, you know the warm water has arrived and it's time to get in.

I modeled this to fit my shower exactly. It simply snaps into place over the pipe. It is a standard 1/2" US shower pipe, but these pipes can come with slightly different bends/angles, so it may not fit your shower. At least it's a very quick print. Feel free to take the idea and model one yourself. I recommend taking measurements, including using a reference photo of your shower pipe or a contour gauge to get the curve right.

Designed for a 0.4mm nozzle, this is 0.8mm thick for two perimeters. Printed with 0.2mm layers and 100% infill. Recommend using a brim. No supports needed!
