I wanted to make something that you didn’t need a hardcore shop to assemble. No wood cutting, no metal bending, no welding, etc.
My day to day consists of making sure things can be manufactured via injection molding with as few extra processes as possible. This was a fun experiment on using 3d printing as a manufacturing method while not worrying about undercuts and cams, and going a bit ridiculous. I did make sure no support was necessary to print this out. It uses affordable parts sourced from online shops and is designed to fit the specific parts that I purchased. Nothing needs to be cut, cleaned, sanded, or glued (although glue is helpful!).
Magnets are necessary to keep the model together, the holes made in the print. When installing magnets make sure they are facing the correct way to connect to each other!
As of date of posting (5/15/2022) I have some clean up in the works on this model along with better instructions for assembly and folding instructions.
Thank you for looking at and or printing and building this lamp! Let me know what you think and if there are any modifications that you would make. If you remix please link it!
Happy Printing,

Folding Instructions included in an image. Both Halves of the Lamp Shade follow the same instructions. Will update with written and more clear drawn instructions soon.
