Note: My printer is currently being repaired, therefore this design has not been tested, for the moment. However, it has been designed with printing accuracy in mind in regards to fits.

A modular furniture system using dowels as support for shelving. This is intended to reduce the amount of wooden boards and 3D printed parts necessary to make DIY shelves. The only limit is your imagination… and materials.

A clearance of .150mm (.006in) is used for all interconnecting parts (dowels, shelves). Dowels slot into a 4mm thick, 15mm depth hole to ensure a snug and secure connection. Two wooden screw holes, located on the bottom, are available to better fasten the joints with the shelf, if necessary.

Materials:
  • 1 ¼in diameter wooden dowels - cut to size
  • ½in wooden board (plywood, MDF, particle board, wood planks, etc.) - cut to size
  • #6-5/8in countersunk wood screw, flat-top (estimated screw length)

Assembly does require some woodwork to cut the desired shelf size and dowel length to build, as well as making sure everything is level.
