These parts allow anyone to put IKEA Fyrtur blinds into any size window you want! I bought 6 of the smallest Fyrtur blinds and installed them in our home windows ranging from 52" up to 70".
This is a work in progress, but I finally have an iteration that is easy to print and assemble. I'd love to hear feedback on ways to improve these designs!
Fyrtur Blind (All sizes use the same motor assembly, so no need to get bigger versions)
1-1/4" PVC Sch40 pipe
Any fabric you want to use since you will need to cut it to fit your new window size.
Contact glue to attach the fabric to your PVC
Small dowel rod to sew into the bottom of your fabric (this is what stops the motor on the way up)
Misc wood screws and a few small machine screws. I used regular wood screws (1.5" and 2" sizes). I also had to use two M3 (I think) machine screws on the 72" window since it utilizes the middle window support clasp.
a 608 bearing
Basic screwdriver and drill for pre drilling your window frame and screwing in the frame brackets to hang the blinds.
A fabric knife makes cutting fabric square and straight MUCH easier. It's like a sharp pizza cutter and was worth the $10 on amazon.
