My Mother asked me for a Rain Collector which she can install on her balcony so she can collect rainwater for her sensitive plants that don't like the mineral rich tap water. After the first prototype died of bad design, MK III is in use since August 2019 and shows no signs of wear. Its effectiveness surprised me, even if he's partially covered from the balcony above he collects a ton of rainwater.

The funnel has a mounting plate with three holes so it can be installed to a pillar with cable ties or similar. Alternatively it can be mounted to a flat surface with double sided tape. It has a thread at the bottom to screw in a PET bottle (I included a thread tester stl since there are multiple standards for bottle threads).

The dimensions are 245x205x190mm, so it uses almost the whole print space of a Prusa MK3. It is designed to be printed without supports.

Print instructions

I highly recommend to print this in PETG, PLA simply deforms too fast in direct sunlight.

Supports are not needed.
