This is a simple placeholder wrist rest for keyboard with 20mm lower edge and 6 degrees angle (made after GMMK pro).

I printed it as two separate parts as I don't have the print width to make a full length one. Initially I was thinking of making one of the sides “extendable” so it becomes one piece, but after trying these out on a desk pad I didn’t see the need.

I designed it so it is printed up-side-down so the top surface always get a nice surface finish (especially with the textured PEI sheet and e.g. archimedean chords pattern). Also, as an unplanned bonus the printed top area is rough (depending on print detail) making it grip desk pads a bit better.

The idea of the inner area is to lower print time and also allow for anti-slip pads.

My settings/setup (Prusa mini smooth PEI sheet with Prusaslicer):

  • 10% infill (probably overkill)
  • Align the “top” so it is against the bottom for a even finish as described earlier.
  • Printed with “draft” speed 0.25 mm.
  • I reduced and only ran 3 solid layers to cut down print time.

What could probably be improved;

  • Need some kind of rubber grip pads on desks without desk pad.
  • Very light, can probably be weighted down with gluing something (e.g. washers) on the bottom.
