I scanned a shell for a friend and made it into a simple lamp.
The base has room for 3 LED's cut of a led strip and a booster to boost from USB 5v to my 12v strip.
have tested from my laptop USB for a few hours now and no issues yet.
you could possibly fit other LEDs to try different effects. The shell is hollow, so would be awesome to see some RGB in there :)
I printed the shell from cleat TPU and Base in Wood PLA, I'm sure other filament types would also suitable also.
I hot glued the shell on in a position that suited me.
UPDATE: added a component cover. not printed myself yet. added 0.2mm tolerance for friction fit based on my printers tolerance.
