Edit: 7/10/2019 - I updated the bearing block slider so that it has the proper spacing so it will roll a lot smoother.
Edit: 12/13/2019 - I was having issues with my spindle fan grinding on my z-axis stepper motor in certain cases so I added a v3 of the bearing block that sticks out an extra 2 mm to avoid this interference.
I wanted to be able to use the cast aluminum holder included with the 500w spindle upgrade for the 3018 CNC so I designed this.
It requires:
4x m6 T-nuts
4x m6 x 70mm bolts (m5 x 60mm were included with the spindle)
4x 8 mm linear, 24 mm long and 15 mm diameter (standard is 18 mm long
This setup seems to be stiffer compared to the included all-plastic holder. The holes for the bearings and lead screw nut are 15.2mm and 10.2 mm in diameter.
I printed it at a 45 degree angle with no supports. I would recommended 4 walls and 20%+ infill.
