This parameterisable system is still a work in progress.

* : from the perspective of an onlooker to rack, where it is facing us as the viewer mounted on rack, thus it is the viewers left and right.
Perimeters tend to provide stronger parts for less material usage when compared to pure infill scaling. Certain components will also experience force in multiple directions, in particular the left and right mounts. I chose the 3D Honeycomb to attempt to cover all the angles per-se.
To modify the parameters there is a params csv file embedded within the FreeCAD file.
You can select this on the left hand side in the combo view of freecad. It may take time to recompute the model (in particular the hexagon mesh multi-pattern) when you edit this file.
There are a number of parameters that can be adapted, including the hexagon mesh. So if anything is not to your liking there should probably be a parameter to help you. If you need anything more advanced however the source file itself will probably have to be edited.
The default configuration just barely fits on a Prusa Mk3, you can configure this somewhat but the object dictates the minimum size of the central platform.
All the parameters in the CSV are accompanies with description and are per-configured for a technicolor DGA0122NLK modem. A few you will most likely want to edit are:
Parameter Name | Description | Default |
---|---|---|
objectWidth | horizontal width of object between rack rails | 213mm |
objectDepth | how deep the object will go into the rack | 185mm |
objectHeight | the vertical height of the object (must not exceed 1U) | 36mm |
The author hasn't provided the model origin yet.
