Oldie but goldie!

The Squirting Lighter is a classic prank - and now it's fully printable!
Just print, assemble, fill with water and the fun can begin.

There are only 3 Parts to print:

  • Lid
  • Body
  • Tube (optional, there is also a version for a PTFE tube)

The lid can be printed in PLA, PETG etc., for the body (and the tube) you will need a flexible material, like TPU or TPE.
I used PLA for the lid and a medium TPU (A98) for the body and the tube.

If you want to use a PTFE Tube, you will need one with an outer diameter of 3 mm and an inner diameter of 2 mm, cut to around 64 mm length.
It works even without the tube, but only when it is completely full.

Printing process:

For printing, you will need a little support on the buildplate for the lid and the body.
I provided 3MF files for PrusaSlicer with my favorite settings and painted on supports.

Also there's a GCODE for the lid (Prusament PLA) and one for the body + tube (Extrudr TPU Flex Medium).

The files can all be printed with 0.2 mm layer height.
For the lid I'd recommend to use 0.1 mm, just because it looks more realistic.

! Make sure to print the correct lid for your desired version. The insert hole for the tube is different, depending on which tube you want to use. !

In case you have issues with the tube being too loose or tight, just scale it up or down a little (shouldn't be more than 3% - we need a tight fit).

Assembly:

For assembly, just put the tube into the hole of the lid and then press the lid into the body.

It's a bit fiddly until the lid sits in place, might be easier with softer TPU. But it needs to be a quite tight fit to force the water out of the hole istead of coming out along the rim.

To fill it up, just submerge it into water upside down, press and release the TPU body until it's filled with water.

Now it's ready to use.
Just squeeze the TPU body and water will come out of the lid.
The harder you squeeze, the higher it will be.

I made a short video of the assembly process, which you can see here:
