I needed a bench dog that could hold work that doesn't have parallel ends without marring it.

Working face has extra wide 1/2" tall face so I can stick a piece of template tape to it and keep work from sliding out when clamped with tail vise. It can handle a 30 degree offset from parallel pretty easily this way.

Print instructions

Category: Hand Tools Print Settings

Printer Brand: Prusa

Printer: I3 MK3S

Rafts: No

Supports: No

Infill: 30-50, 6 perimeters

Filament: Paramount 3D PETG
Notes:

It prints on its head which is at an angle to keep the layers from lining up perfectly with the shear force of the vise, but it still needs a lot of perimeters. I managed to break my first one with 4 perimeters, but it took me throwing my whole 190 lbs into a fairly dull No. 6 plane for 20 minutes to do it. The second attempt with 6 perimeters is holding just fine.
