Getting ready for Easter...
The wife put the original on our table and the scanner was setup so I threw it (gently) on to the turn table. I attempted to do a textured scan of this with the Einscan-S. A textured scan uses the gray scale of the capture and assigns color to it. It did okay with blue and green but not red. So the result looks like it's covered in algae... all green and blue. I uploaded only the stl version since the obj textured version was way too large.
Otherwise the scan came out pretty well and only needed 2 turns on the table; one upright and one on its back. No cleanup afterward was needed at all.
For the whole story of this thing and how i scanned it with the Einscan-S listen to the 3d Printing Today podcast: threedprintingtoday.libsyn.com. It's free, has gobs of interesting 3D Printing content and is listener supported... I,e., not ads or popups. If you are having tons-o-fun with your 3D Printer then you REALLY should have a listen!
