I managed to strip the bolt for tightening the spindle on my Linksprite 1610 CNC. I decided to take the time to model up an entire replacement carriage (with help from a few measurements).

Features:

  1. the carriage is entirely parametric.
  2. It features a lifted spindle clamp to increase clamping surface when using an ER11 collet, which tends to be longer than the stock collet.
  3. it uses a GoPro knob for clamping the spindle (25mm M5 bolt and M5 nut).
  4. (optional) The wide body version basically has Despair's Z endstop plate built in on either side, plus a cable tie mount point.
  5. (optional) built-in dovetail mounts on either side of the spindle for accessories like dust collection and camera mounts. Still designing those bits.

There's several versions; a wide-body version with a lifted clamping section, dovetail mounts, and endstop mounts, one without the lift, and something close to stock with just the improved front clamp.

I've included a trivial block for removing the LM8UU bearings without damage (they're not in too tight). The screw nut is a bit tighter, but still pops out easily enough.
