As seen on Instagram.

Holder for a Wera hex key set, (Wera part number 05073593001) holding 1.5-8mm hex keys. Designed for a bike mechanic travel toolbox where the 10mm hex wrench is never used, so I left it out.  (if you really wanted it, I could update the model to include the 10mm)

Design considerations:

  • Take up as little space as possible
The wrenches are spaced only 2mm apart
  • Hold the wrenches securely
The wrenches lightly held by the thicker plastic in the center, and they're all at the top of the holder, so the layer of foam above it also keeps them in place.
  • Allow for the wrenches to be removed easily
The end can be easily and quickly lifted up where it can be grabbed and pull the hex key out.

The “teeth” on the side are to help keep it in place in the Kaizen foam. For 20mm foam, cut out a rectangle at the full depth. For thicker foam, you could cut the model to get rid of the extra thickness on the bottom, then cut out a rectangle to fit, or just cut it 20mm deep.

I printed on my MK3S (too big for the Mini, sorry) at 0.3mm layer height with no top or bottom layers so the infill is visible, which was inspired by the incredible toolbox inserts by Julian Fisher. (captain_fi5her on Instagram) You can print a solid top and bottom but the print will take significantly longer. I also got some warping so I would suggest using a draft shield (found in the “Skirt and brim” section of PrusaSlicer, don't know about other slicers)
