I have more tutorials in the works--fancier vases building on this one, case design for a circuitboard, custom glasses, printer mods, etc.

In the yellow vase image, you can see the all the triangles the different STL export setting generate. The 'fine' setting file is nearly 10 times the file size of the 'coarse'. It can be more taxing on your slicer, but you'll get a smoother vase.

Resolution:

0.2mm or less (depends on overhangs)

Infill:

0% (vase mode)


Notes:

Designed to print in vase mode without supports.

In Cura, use 'Spiralize outer contour' (you'll probably have to turn it on Setting Visibility under Preferences)

In Slic3r, use 'Spiral vase' under Print Settings

In Simplify3D use 'Single outline corkscrew printing mode' in the layer tab.
