What is this?

A quick replacement pad for the Wolfcraft Microfix clamps.

The first thing I did when I got my clamps was break out the callipers and model the pads tips,  the originals are a hard plastic, I have printing a few replacements with PETG as a test to check that everything goes together as it should….it does!

What can I do with it?

Besides being able to print a replacement on demand, the model allows us to select a different material to use.  The original pad is an injection folded hard plastic, but we can choose other types of material, the most interesting of which would be TPU or TPE.

These flexible filaments vary in the amount of give they provide, this allows us to print pads that can grip a little more “gentle” or conform better to the object being clamped.

How do I print it?

I print 99.9% of the time with PETG, so naturally I've printed these with that material, no special settings were required, I just used the appropriate profile in Prusaslicer for the filament I was printing with, there's enough flex on the PETG to pop the pad onto the axle without it snapping, I've taken off and put the pad on multiple times without any failures.

I'd love to see somebody print some replacement pads in an ultra soft filament such as a TPU from ninja flex, the TPU I have here is a little on the hard side, especially for small models like this.

Interestingly enough, this does scale up to the sizes used on other wolfcraft clamps, I will upload some of the other models at a later stage.
