In my research about exhaust and cooling fans these things work by normalizing turbulence created by the fan. When on the exhaust side air presses against the walls of the cone and eliminates the air from swirling back around the blades which causes back pressure. So obviously eliminating the back pressure will increase air flow and electrical efficiency. When on the inlet side air is funneled into the fan which decrease turbulence and adds a bit of pressure to the exhausted air. They claim a tubeaxial fan can be as much as 65% more efficient, all by adding a tube around the fan or a cone to one side. That's amazing!

Yeah Racing makes a thing called a (Wind Pressurizer) and there is another called the (EA Air Funnel). The Air Funnel looks much like my model, their v2 is a two piece that eliminated the screw holes through the funnel. You will also see these funnels in the automotive industry on carburetor intakes called Velocity Stacks.

But I wondered does it really work.... I have Fusion360 and a 3D printer so I made one. Short answer is yes it does.
