PDF

A simple hanger designed to store flex plates on the side of the printer when not in use.

There are two variants: one with through holes sized for the 5.3x51.mm BOM heated inserts and another for McMaster P/N: 94459A130 4.7x4.3mm inserts.

There is additionally a small drilling guide included. The same guide is used for both variants.

The current design has three plate slots, but could easily be modified/remixed for more if needed.

Fusion 360 project file available here.

  • Print two hangers and one guide.
  • Slip the hangers on to a flex sheet and determine where you want the plates to be positioned on the side panel.
  • Use a paint marker or similar to mark the panel at one corner of the front bracket.
  • Mark another horizontal line where you intend to position the rear hanger using a straight edge or laser level to ensure they're aligned.
  • Line up the drill guide with the marks you've made. Inserting an M3 bolt through the guide and first hole you drilled will help hold it in place when drilling the second.
  • Mount the hangers to the side panel with M3 bolts. Anything in the range of 8-12mm should work fine.
