Honeycomb writing utensil organizer #studentdesignchallenge

This Pencil holder is no ordinary pencil holder, it is a creative pencil holder. it is used to organize your pencils, colored pencils, pens ect.. It helps you find what you need without digging through a box looking for your pen, while also serving as a desk decoration.

One issue that I had while designing this was making the hexagons with even space between them, I had to redo the entire thing when fusion 360 had a error and closed out without saving.

I would re design the size of the overall holder, it was big and had a long print time.

How I designed my desk organizer.

I started off by experimenting with the polygons and the circles. then I came up with probably 50 ideas, and started to design on graph paper. after 1 or 2 hours on paper i came up with a hexagon/honeycomb idea. At first it was straight and tall, but i found out that you can curve the object in the direction you want. then i got exited, I started to round the top to make a curved top of the pencil holder. I filleted the corners and the edges then wallah I was finished with my masterpiece.
