The phone dock by eirikso (thing:1655546) has been very good for quite a while, until my wife broke her arm and couldn't, with one hand, release her phone from the charging plug to lift it from the dock without lifting the whole dock complete with phone. Some people seem to have resorted to gluing the base to their desk, which seemed a little extreme, so I had a think...

I've remodelled the Universal Base slightly (by importing the original STL into Tinkercad) and added two mounting holes, one at either side, I've then designed a very simple lever device, that mounts to the new holes in the base and is operated by one hand to "eject" the phone upwards just far enough to release it from the charging plug (it doesn't ping it across the room!) the phone can then be lifted straight up out of the dock. To complete the dock, you will still need to print (or already have) the "first" and "second" parts of eirikso's design customised to your phone.

The lever device (I've called the "Ejector") just springs open sufficiently to fit it into the mounting holes in the modified Universal Dock Base.

I've included 2 STL files for the Ejector, one with the text as shown and one without the text.

It works so well that I've printed one for my phone dock too!
