Getting the mounting holes aligned is fairly hard but other than that it is a good model. I left a tab for the PSU bracket to mount on. Seems most people just hack them away completely.

In this mold, are the holes to attach to case pre-cut? Meaning do I just buy 3mm insets and tap them into the holes? I don't have a 3d printer so I will need to use an online service for this.
Fantastic model - thank you! Printed on a Bambu P1S in PETG, before the humidity got to it. Cutting up the metal chassis was a fun project.
@fxb9_554193 Awesome! Glad you liked it and thanks for posting the photo of the cutting .. sure that helps some other people!
How did you do that awesome fan and case transparent overlay picture? I started to get into 3d modeling a bit and it's pretty cool, takes a bit to get familiar with the navigation keys but I am building off what I know constantly. Thanks in advance & nice job!
@bcboncs_1634163 basically just have one body on 30% opacity in fusion 360 for example
@pixelwave do you have any measurements on where we should drill the holes for the screws?
@Blahlex_56685 Unfortunately not - since I had a pre-used and modified fractal case .. I just modified further and it already had the holes...
Coffee sent.
Thanks for the great design. Just got it assembled today. And its working nice and cool
@ChristianPea_1227158 Awesome! Really appreciated .. both the make and the coffee. :)
Did anyone manage to get data or a rough idea of how much the mod impacted the temperature of their storage?
My CPU temps are fine but HDDs are a bit higher than I'd like. Airflow measurements for dual 90 setup or a 200 at comparable noise level don't seem that far apart and I'm thinking the 90s would direct the airflow better.
Good question. My idea for the full 200mm fan case was to also direct airflow across all components - not just the HDDs on top. CPU, Mainboard, PCIe low-profile cards and NVMe storage, PSU etc ...
It would be good if you could incorporate the usb ports somewhere on the front.
Thanks Pixelwave for the inspiration. I really like your solution, but I wanted to leave the beautiful case as good as possible original, so I drew my own variant :-)
@ConanLloyd_708006 small dremel or something like this should also do the trick i guess..
@ConanLloyd_708006 sure gladly. You can already find the design in my profile :-)
Pretty good! Power button still to be installed though. Added a piece of mosquito net which isn't going to do much for dust but will keep some cat hair out at least.
Was a bit tricky getting positions for drilling the mounting holes though.
Prusament galaxy black asa and polymaker polyterra orange pla.
@Blahlex_56685 Unfortunately not, I simply placed it on the front and eyeballed it with some reference marks from what was visible through the case frame.
Can you post the CAD for this? I'd love you add USB ports to this
@cragh4k_992348 I had the same thought and created a version with the usb ports myself: https://www.printables.com/model/653806-200mm-fan-front-with-io-ports-and-power-button-for
@cragh4k_992348 While considerably different, my remix includes a step file that can make customization easier: https://www.printables.com/model/866109-200mm-fan-front-for-fractal-node-304
