Got an old Tamiya Vanquish recently and the only part that was seriously damaged has been G11. Quickly found out that this part is know to break, so I decided to improve it and make it 3D printable.
I removed the holder for the resistor because I wanted to use a ESC and I also removed the holder for the antenna as I will go for a 2,4 Ghz system that does not require a that long antenna
There are three version you can download:
for 3d printing:
-standard
-reinforced
for milling, laser cutting, or to be made as a PCB (for example from JLCPCB)
Needs to be done with 2mm material or you stack 2x 1mm Material (makes sence as 2mm PCB prototyping is almost 10 times more expensive than 1mm)
For the non 3D printed version you need to get a 10mm spacer with internal thread of M3 + shorter screws and a 9mm spacer, inner diameter 3 to 3.2mm, outer diameter ~ 7mm which needs to get a chamfer. You can also 3D print this 9mm spacer.
The 3d printed version was fine for driving, recently added the pictures of the PCB version. Also works well with some more Bling factor. Send me a message if you want to get the Gerber files.
