Project Overview:

This is my custom case project designed for the Google Pixel 8 Pro. I created this case to explore modular designs for custom devices combining a smartphone and a keyboard. The idea was to enable a compact, all-in-one platform for general productivity on the go.

Disclaimer:

I do not personally own a Pixel 8 Pro has not been physically tested with a real Pixel 8 Pro device. This model was created using publicly available dimensions and reference material.

About the Keyboard:

The wireless keyboard I used was purchased from AliExpress (Link), but similar models can be found on Amazon under different brand names (Link).

Used materials:

All parts of this model should be printed in PLA, except for those with the "tpu" prefix in their names, which should be printed in TPU since it is less slippery and can be used as feet pads. You will also need a couple of M3x12 screws to fix the hinge pin parts together. Apply force while screwing them in to allow them to cut into the plastic.

Hinge Design:

The hinge components have been separated from the main case body to ensure proper print quality and functionality. This decision was made to allow the circular hinge parts to be aligned perpendicular to the Z-axis during printing. Aligning the holes this way ensures that the circular geometry remains accurate, avoids layer artifacts, and eliminates the need for support material inside the hinge holes, which would otherwise be difficult to clean and could compromise fit and movement.
