X-43A

Flying semi scale model of Pegasus rocket booster with X-43A hypersonic vehicle.

The model is based on previously published Pegasus XL and uses the Pegasus model rocket printed parts.

Length 570 mm, diameter 50 mm.
Powered by three 10 N-s model rocket motors (3x C6-5), altitude apogee circa 120 m.
The body tube is cardboard 50 mm diameter by Klima.

The design of the X-43A was inspired by the cardmodel HYPER X by T.Noteboom.

Notes:

You need extra weight on the nose to make the model stable, so for the X-43A use enough infill.
I recommend to cut X-43A in half, print it in two pieces and bond.
Look into the Open Rocket design sheet for the stability calculations.

Not suitable for beginners.
