Hi! I'm thinking of building something similar and ran into your model. I was wondering why you used the guide rails on the side clamped to the table (are there risks of the rails sliding or tilting?) vs the track saw rails just laying on the table flat, and using the track to move in the long direction?

I'm sure there's a good reason you did it this way - I am just not imaginative enough to figure out why. Thanks!

@jonufen_69879 If your table top is not perfectly flat, the track saw rails would contour to the table if laid flat. In this orientation clamped to the side, they are rigid in the direction that matters and provide a straight rail for the sled to move on. Also, you would lose a fair amount of table surface area if the rails were laying on the top (this may not matter if you have a much larger table than the piece being flattened).

I don't believe they will move, as there is not a lot of weight or pressure on them. If you worry about that you could add some double sided tape or another means to prevent them from sliding.
