This is another free 3D model made available for you. I love sharing my models, but designing, testing, polishing, uploading and maintaining them is a lot of work. In case you enjoy this model, please leave a small Donation or Buy me a Coffee. Thank you!
Use PETG or ABS/ASA. I'd rather not use PLA because I love my MacBook. ;-)
Nozzle 0.4mm, layer height 0.2mm, 20% infill, no support used.
Place all printed elements with the 22x22mm opening to the top.
Timber used is 22x22mm, the lengths for my 16' MacBook Pro are shown in TimberSketch.png and the table below; the 2 horizontal pieces are 308mm. To calculate your custom lengths: the MacBook is 355mm wide and 250mm deep. If e.g. depth is 10mm less for your laptop, use 219mm instead of 229mm for the top parts.
Number | Measure | Part | Optional Adjustment |
2 | 229mm | top | ± delta of your laptop's depth to 255mm |
2 | 369mm | vertical | ± delta to front height other than 350mm |
2 | 201mm | bottom | ± delta of your laptop's depth to 255mm |
2 | 308mm | horizontal | ± delta of your laptop's width to 355mm |
Instead of using screws to fix the timber in the printed angles, I use a 2 component glue.
Well, you can print the timber parts too. They are all simple rectangular objects of size 21.8mm x 21.8mm x Measure given in the table. The vertical and horizontal parts will require a big printer for all but very small laptops.
