Description

PDF

This fan shroud is for use with the Ender 5 Max only, and for use with the Simple AF custom firmware and a Cartographer or Beacon eddy current probe

This model should be printed in ABS/ASA for the best results

Printing Instructions

  • No supports
  • 0.2mm layer height
  • Forced 0.4mm lines
  • Set “Slice gap closing radius” to 0 under “Precision”
  • Disable “Only one wall on top surfaces” under “Walls and Surfaces” in Orca Slicer!

Required Extra Hardware

If you are mounting a Cartographer or Beacon probe, you will need:

2x Voron M3x5x4 heatset inserts (M3 x 5mm OD x 4mm L )

Everything else uses either the stock parts or parts that come with the Cartographer.

Assembly

  1. Remove the stock fan and fan duct from the original fan shroud
  2. Insert the fan duct, then fan shroud into the Simply Hexed shroud
  3. Screw in the fan. The pressure from the fan will hold the duct in place
  4. Insert the heat-set inserts into the bottom of the Simple Hexed shroud
  5. Screw in the Cartographer or Beacon into the heat-set inserts using the screws that come with the probe
