Now - here the brand new design of my articulated snake, which is not that spiky anymore.

The joints are again improved.

I added a the mini snake (also as keychain with 3mm hole) which you can use as a test file before a big print, if your printer settings will work without printing the single parts together.

The design is made for support free printing! I recommend to use at least 2 walls with 10% infill (i used lightning infill) and a brim with 0.6mm distance to the object.

There are a lot of sizes for different print beds and here roughly the straight length:

Mini → Length 53 mm

Small → Length 95 mm

180mm → Length 800 mm

220mm → Length 1100 mm

250mm → Length 1400 mm

300mm → Length 1800 mm

400mm → Length 2500 mm

800mm → Length 5800 mm

If you want the snake in 200mm or 350mm length, you can download it here at my other models.

The tail has in all versions the same size that it works with the part distance for printing. Do not scale it down, but you can upscale it.

You will have roughly the length when you multiply the mentioned length with your scale you apply in your slicer.

Version 180mm with 122% on a 220mm bed: 960 mm

Version 220mm with 113% on a 250mm bed: 1250 mm

Version 250mm with 120% on a 300mm bed: 1680 mm

Version 300mm with 133% on a 400mm bed: 2400 mm

Version 400mm with 200% on a 800mm bed: 5000 mm

The benefit is that the smallest pieces will be more robust and you can print it maybe with a bigger nozzle diameter.

I added pictures which shows the difference to the previous snake. Both prints are the 180 version of the snakes. The head is bigger and also the size of the following segments. The length is nearly the Same.

If you like the model or the idea, I would be happy if you like it or download it. Stay tuned for my other models.

Would be happy to see your makes!
