This is a miniature bear trap with an improved and more reliable trigger design. This thing is seriously powerful, and a blast to see what it will devour!
Parts list:
Small Heavy Force Orthodontic Rubber Bands

(These are the ones I used) ⏫
3 bands on each side should be plenty, but more can be added for extra power😉.
Assembly: (GIFs coming soon)
- Hold both jaws teeth together and stretch the rubber bands over the ends into the notches. Make sure the rubber band number is even on each side.
- Slide the jaws into the base, starting with the angled side going closest to the trigger mount.
- Bend the jaws to fit the other side into the slots.
- Slide the trigger sideways onto the trigger mount and twist to lock in.
To Set: (GIFs coming soon)
- Pry open the jaws and hold them down.
- Push the trigger forward into the grooves in the jaws
- Push down on the top of the trigger where it contacts the the jaws and slowly release the jaws. The pinching force of the jaws on the trigger will hold it in place until a force is applied on the center part of the trigger, setting off the trap!
Slicer Settings:
High infill (50%- 100%)
Tree supports
PLA will work but PETG or ABS is recommended for strength

Differences of the remix compared to the original
I made this from scratch using ItsOnMyMind's bear trap as a reference.
- Improved trigger release mechanism
- Sturdier base
- Larger and more powerful
